SMART GLASS- THE NEW SMART CHOICE

In this era of advancements, when you can control the atmospheric conditions and ambiance inside your homes by just switching a button, then you can also manage the light entering from the windows. There are sometimes when you do not want the heat coming from the sun, passing directly towards you through your windows, you cover it with the curtains or blinds or increase the levels of air-conditioning. All these ways are inconvenient and old. If we could have electronic washing machines, vacuum cleaners, dishwashers, then you could also think of electric and automatic windows.

Types of Glasses Used in Construction

Glass is a solid material that is usually translucent and stiff. The synthesis process manufactures it. In this process, sand is mixed with lime, soda, and some other combinations and then cooled rapidly. Properties of glasses include strength, transparency, visible transmission, and recyclable.

Types of Glasses:

Float Glass:

Float glasses are manufactured using floating liquid through molten metal. Metals like tin are preferably utilized these days, whereas, lead and other materials which had a low melting point were used in the past. It is used in building windows.

Laminated Glass:

It is a form of safety glass which holds back all the pieces of crystal that are broken. It is held together by an interlayer of polyvinyl that is placed between two or more layers of glasses. The middle layer prevents the glass from detaching when broken.

Self-Clean Glass:

It is a specific type of glass which has the ability to keep itself clean and free of filth. It is divided into two categories: hydrophobic and hydrophilic.

Rolling droplets and sheeting water clean hydrophobic type of glass. Whereas, the later one is disemboweled through the sunlight as it can chemically break down the dirt.

Shatterproof Glass:

It is made using dishes of plastic to minimize the risk of shattering.

Bent Tempered Glass:

Bent tempered glass manufacturers have made this form of glass by rapidly heating the edges to turn the corners. It is relatively stronger than the other types of glasses.

Tinted Glass:

As the name says that the glass is colored. Standard glass is mixed with the color-producing ingredients to make it tinted. For example, iron oxide is a coloring ion which produces the color green.

Chromatic Glass:

Chromatic glass is generally found in meeting rooms or ICU. It protects the daylight from entering and control the transparent proficiency of the glass.

Glass Block:

These types of glasses are manufactured using two different halves. They are joint through the melting process. Glass blocks are used in the construction of the walls and skylights etc.
